Chart Beat

Canadian Pop Artist Sofia Camara Has a Strong Debut on the Billboard Canada Airplay Charts with 'Girls Like You’

Jessie Reyez is also rising on the charts with "NYB," while Toronto band The Beaches sit at No. 1 on Modern Rock Airplay with "Last Girls at the Party."

Sofia Camara is belting her way onto the radio this week.

“Girls Like You,” the recent single from the Toronto-based singer, debuts on the Billboard Canada CHR/Top 40 Airplay chart at No. 33, dated July 5. Produced by Mike Wise, Danny Bravo and Billboard Canada Non-Performing Songwriter Award winner Lowell, the track is an upbeat synth-pop moment where Camara sings about the emotional muscle memory of falling back into old patterns despite warnings and hard-learned lessons. Released in late May, the song follows up Camara’s newest EP, Was I(t) Worth It?, which arrived March 21 via Universal Music Canada.
