Drake adds five new Hot 100 top 10s, as his new album Scorpion sits confidently in first place on the Billboard Albums chart, upping his career total to 31 and passing Michael Jackson for the most among solo males.


Drake's now boasts seven songs in the top 10 simultaneously, besting the Beatles' record of five that had stood since 1964.

One of Canada's leading royalty agencies saw a marked increase in 2024 distributions.

The Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency (CMRRA) distributed $96 million in royalties to publishers and self-published songwriters last year. That marks a 23% increase from 2023, with streaming leading the way in growth at 38%.
