Sum 41 are going out on a high note.
As the beloved Canadian pop-punk band closes out their final Canadian tour, the band have notched a new chart debut. All The Good Sh**: 14 Solid Gold Hits 2000 - 2008 debuts on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart at No. 98 this week, on the chart dated Jan. 25.
That greatest hits album was first released in 2008, and features songs from the band's first four studio albums. It has hits like "Fat Lip" — the band's sole Hot 100 hit in the U.S. — as well as "Still Waiting" and "In Too Deep," which cracked the top ten on the Alternative Airplay chart.
Fans are likely diving back into those hits as they attend Sum 41's last tour, Tour of the Setting Sum, which is closing out in Canada this month. The band have six shows left, concluding with back-to-back performances at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena on January 28 and 30.
They decided to call it quits amidst a career resurgence that saw them break a chart record last year for longest gap between No. 1 hits on the Alternative Airplay chart, with single "Landmines" off their final album Heaven :x: Hell topping that chart in 2024. (They went on to top it again later in the year with "Dopamine.")
As they wind down, they're getting recognition for their influence on pop-rock music on the international stage and at home: they'll be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards in March.
At the top of the Canadian Albums chart, SZA holds onto the No. 1 spot with SOS, marking that album's 13th non-consecutive week as the chart leader aided by the late-2024 Lana Deluxe Edition). Bad Bunny climbs 12-2 this week with his acclaimed new release Debi Tirar Mas Fotos. In the U.S., he's hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200, but the top spot is so far elusive in Canada.
Bad Bunny is also all over the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 this week, where Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars continue their reign at the top with "Die With a Smile." His highest placement is the melancholic late album track "DtMF" at No. 22. On the chorus, he sings in Spanish: “I should have taken more photos when I had you / I should have given you more kisses and hugs when I had the chance.” The song has sparked a TikTok trend, with listeners sharing photos of their families and tearful reactions.
