Sabrina Carpenter Hits No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, But Just Misses in Canada
Carpenter’s “Manchild” debuts at No. 2 on the Canadian Hot 100, behind Alex Warren’s “Ordinary,” which has spent the past 10 weeks atop the chart.

Sabrina Carpenter summer is almost here.
The Grammy-winning pop singer’s track “Manchild,” from her forthcoming album Man’s Best Friend, debuts at No.2 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart dated June 21. While it just misses the top spot held by Alex Warren's "Ordinary" in Canada, it debuts at No. 1 on the U.S. Hot 100, dethroning Warren.
Despite missing the top spot in its first week, "Manchild" is still a win for Carpenter in Canada. Last year, she peaked in the Top 10 with hits “Espresso” (No. 3), “Please, Please, Please” (No. 3) and “Taste” (No. 4) from her album, Short n’ Sweet — whichhit No.1 on the Canadian Albums chart and remained there for nine weeks.

Produced by Carpenter and Jack Antonoff, “Manchild” earns the former her first No. 2 on the Canadian Hot 100. It marks her second No. 1 on the U.S. Hot 100, following last year’s one-week stint with “Please, Please, Please.”
This new entry isn’t the only song Carpenter has on the chart. “Taste” sits at No. 43, and “Busy Woman,” a Short n’ Sweet deluxe track, re-entered the chart at No. 78.
But Carpenter isn’t the only pop girlie rising on the charts.
TikTok creator turned popstar Addison Rae is entering the Canadian Albums chart, breaking the Top 10 at No.6 with her self-titled debut, Addison, released June 6.
Rae’s entry to the albums chart follows her track “Fame is a Gun,” which entered the Canadian Hot 100 last week at No. 77. Rising 18 spots, it peaks at No. 59.
Other pop artists have experienced rising moments on the chart this week, too. Lola Young’s tracks “Messy” and “One Thing” rises 8-9 and 54-68, respectively, while KATSEYE’s “Gnarly” moves up over 20 spots, 69-94. On a smaller scale, Gracie Abrams’ “That’s So True” rises 9-10, and Charli xcx’s “Party 4 U” moves up 46-47.

Canadian musicians have been rising up in the ranks. Viral rapper bbno$’s track “Check” jumps two spots, going 76-78, along with Shawn Desman and Jamie Fine’s “BODY,” which rises 91-93.
