Jessie Reyez Donates Bras Thrown Onstage to Local Women's Shelters

Jessie Reyez is turning an onstage tradition into a charitable initiative.
The Canadian-Columbian singer — and Trailblazer Award honouree at Billboard Canada Women in Music 2024 — is currently touring in support of her album, Paid in Memories. Since Reyez kicked off the global tour in June, concertgoers have been throwing their bras on stage.
The undergarment has become a staple of Reyez’s shows as the musician often frolicks onstage with a bra in hand or a collection of bras accumulates on her microphone stand.
In a TikTok video posted on Tuesday (August 5), the “NYB” singer said she plans to collect the bras after each show and donate them to women in need.

“Muchas gracias to all the titties around the world,” Reyez said in the video, as she held up multiple bras.
“Thank you guys for throwing it out there and being so enthusiastic at the shows. We’re gonna offer our support and donate them to women’s shelters.”
@jessiereyez Thank you for freeing your yitties at my shows 🍒. I appreciate your SUPPORT 👙… get it?
While the art of fans throwing bras on stage is nothing new, Reyez reframes the gesture as an opportunity to give back. She has yet to confirm which shelters will receive the donations, but the sentiment has received praise from fans on social media.
“What a great thing to do with them ❤️,” one TikTok user commented. “Doing my due diligence 🫡 donated at the LA show 🤪” wrote another. On X, one user wrote: “Love that they go to a good cause.”
"Donating them to women's shelters is an amazing idea,” said Missy Wiseman on Facebook. “My bra is in there 😁 I love that they are getting donated to a women’s shelter 🥰,” commented fan Jeanette Lewis.
This November and December, Reyez will head to her home country, playing shows in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Montreal. She’ll conclude the Paid in Memories tour with two hometown shows at Massey Hall on December 6.
