Alanis Morissette to Headline Prince Edward Island's Sommo Festival & More Canadian Concert News
The Canadian icon will join Hozier at the P.E.I. music and culinary festival this September. Vancouver dance festival Insomnia has also announced its 2025 lineup, and Lynyrd Skynyrd and Billy Idol plot Canadian tour dates.

P.E.I. will be getting a dose of Alanis Morissette this fall as she celebrates Jagged Little Pill's 30th anniversary.
The Canadian icon is set to headline Sommo Festival's Saturday night. The annual event is celebrating its third edition in the coastal community of Cavendish in Prince Edward Island on September 13 and 14. Irish singer-songwriter Hozier will headline the second night.
Produced by Whitecap Entertainment — also of Cavendish Beach Music Festival — Sommo brings together music and culinary experiences, with past performers including Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers and Noah Kahan. Tickets are on sale now.
Another Canadian festival has also revealed its 2025 lineup: dance fest Insomnia will bring Swedish house producer Alesso to Vancouver's TradeX convention centre on March 22. Brazilian DJ Alok and German duo Cosmic Gate will perform support sets, among others. Tickets are on sale now.

International folk conference Folk Alliance International, taking place in Montreal from February 19-23, will host Canadian roots musician Allison Russell for its keynote event. Russell will be interviewed by music journalist Ann Powers, and the conference will also host performances by Basia Bulat, Ron Sexsmith and Tara MacLean. Find full showcase and event listings here.
Also announced this week, Floridian rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd are planning a 10-date Canadian tour, set for September. The band will take their 60-album discography across the country — and, this is a rare case where across the country includes Canada's eastern-most province. The tour will kick off in Calgary at the Scotiabank Saddledome on September 10 and conclude in St. John's, Newfoundland on September 25. General on-sale begins January 24.

English punk singer Billy Idol will also make his way to Toronto this year for a performance at Budweiser Stage on May 23. His 'It's A Nice Day To Tour...Again!' outing will feature dates across the continent in May, August and September, with Joan Jett supporting. Tickets go on sale January 24.
