On Tuesday (Sept. 10), Dave Grohl stunned fans with the announcement that he’s now the father of a new baby born outside of his marriage to Jordyn Blum.

In a succinct message posted on Instagram, the Foo Fighters frontman got straight to the point. “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”

“I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” added the former Nirvana drummer, who shares 18-year-old Violet, 15-year-old Harper and 10-year-old Ophelia with Blum. “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

Grohl’s team had no further comment.

The musician has been married to Blum since 2003. The couple has chosen to keep their relationship mostly private, but Grohl has been open in the past about how the director and their family keep him grounded through his hectic life.

“For the past 20 years when I’ve been touring, I’ve always craved stability,” he told The Guardian in 2007, back when his oldest daughter was just a baby. “I’ve never gotten off on chaos. Throughout the whole Nirvana experience I retreated to Virginia whenever I felt sucked into the tornado of insanity. Same thing with the Foo Fighters – I wouldn’t be able to do this if I didn’t have my feet planted firmly on the ground. So Jordyn and Violet are anchors that keep me from completely disappearing.”

Prior to his relationship with Blum, Grohl was wed to Jennifer Youngblood. He’s previously been open about how his infidelity in his first marriage led to their divorce in 1997.

In This Season of Giving, Mariah Carey Shares Throwback Clip From 1994 Manifesting a Potential Christmas Classic One Day: ‘So Grateful’

MC only had to wait 25 years for her all-time holiday classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Mariah Carey is the undisputed Queen of Christmas. The pop singer has lorded over the holiday charts for the past six years with her ubiquitous wintertime classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” It seems hard to believe it now if you’ve been anywhere near a store since Halloween, but the yuletide favorite that was released in 1994 did not chart until 2000 and did not hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 until 2019, fully 25 years after it first hit our ears.

Now, as the holidays really ramp up, the best-selling Christmas song of all time in the U.S. seems like a no-brainer to top the charts every year. But on Tuesday (Dec. 9), MC gave thanks for how it all started in a throwback video she re-posted from a fan feed of an interview she did in 1994 in which she was asked if she hopes one of the songs from her first holiday album, that year’s Merry Christmas, might some day be as ubiquitous as such standards as “White Christmas” or “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”
