Céline Dion Rumoured for Paris Olympics Comeback Performance
The Quebec superstar hasn't performed since before the announcement of her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis in 2022, but she could be singing at the Olympic Opening Ceremony on Friday, July 26.

A Canadian icon may be making her return to the stage this week.
Céline Dion hasn't performed since before she publicly announced her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022, but the superstar reportedly planning a comeback performance at the Paris Olympics. Variety reports today (July 23) that Dion is rumoured to be singing during the Opening Ceremony this Friday, July 26.
If so, the performance would mark a major comeback for the singer. The recent documentary, I Am: Céline Dion, chronicles Dion's battle with the painful neurological condition over the last two years.
Dion made a surprise appearance at the Grammys in February, but has yet to sing publicly since the diagnosis. In April, she told Vogue Francethat she's been working hard with her medical team. "I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!”

The Opening Ceremony will feature a parade along the Seine river in Paris, and will conclude across from the Eiffel Tower. Dion landed in Paris on Monday and is staying at the Royal Monceau. Lady Gaga, also rumoured to be performing, is staying at the same hotel.
Dion previously performed at an Olympic Opening Ceremony in 1996, singing "The Power of the Dream" at the Atlanta Olympics.
The Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony begins at 1 p.m. EST on Friday, July 26, airing on CBC in Canada.
