Backstreet Boys Extend Their Record For Most Shows at Toronto’s Rogers Centre to 12 Shows

The '90s and 2000s pop group has added three more shows to its already record-breaking nine at the stadium, playing on March 5, 6 and 7, 2027.

Backstreet Boys’ Toronto residency is the gift that keeps on giving.

It’s been less than a week since the ‘90s/2000s boy band announced their North American residency, Into the Millennium – Homecoming: Live in Canada, at Rogers Centre in February 2027. Initially, they were slated to play four nights at the stadium, but kept adding more and more dates throughout the month, bringing them to a total of nine nights.

Over the weekend, co-presenters Rogers and Live Nation announced two additional dates on March 5 and 6, and just revealed today (Oct. 13) that they’ll be adding one more date on March 7, which they’ve claimed will be their “final show,” tacked onto the now 12-night residency.

“Well, it truly is a Canadian Thanksgiving!” the group wrote on social media. “We never thought you guys would be this excited, but here we are rounding out four weekends of shows in Toronto in Feb and March!”

It’s been nearly 30 years since the band first played at Rogers Centre under its former name, SkyDome, in 1998 — one of their first major shows in Toronto. This show is a throwback to that fan-favourite Millennium tour.

28 years later, the stadium can hold up to 55,000 people for concerts, and if all 11 shows sell out (which seems likely), that will bring the number of tickets sold to over half a million. Reportedly, these shows will be the band’s only concerts in North America.

Kicking off their North American residency on Feb. 12, they’ll continue on Feb. 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26 and 27, with new dates on March 5, 6 and 7. The 2027 residency marks the Backstreet Boys’ first shows in Canada since 2022.

Last week, the boy band broke the record for the most-played shows at Rogers Centre with their nine dates, surpassing two blockbuster tours, The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour and Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. Both artists played six shows at the stadium on their respective headline tours.

With multiple records under their belt already, next year’s Toronto residency follows the group’s recent success with their five-night stint at the Sphere in Las Vegas, which helped build hype for the long-standing boy band. Currently, they’re on a 10-show stadium residency in Düsseldorf, Germany.

“Fans from around the world are excited to see this iconic group live, so we jumped at the opportunity to bring the Backstreet Boys to Canada,” Terrie Tweddle, chief brand and communications officer at Rogers, told Billboard Canada, following last week’s record-breaking announcement.

While 11 of 12 dates are on sale now, tickets for March 7 go on sale to the general public on Oct. 14 at 10 am local, following various presales beginning today — sign up here for access.
