These Halloween Hits Have Returned to the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 in 2026
Michael Jackson's "Thriller," Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me" and more have got a “boo-st” on the chart following the spooky holiday.

Halloween has hit the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 once again.
Following this weekend's festivities, four spooky-themed tracks re-entered the chart dated Nov. 7.
The spooky holiday was on Oct. 31, but this week’s chart entries track streams between Oct. 23 and 29, leading up to Halloween. Here are the tracks that have returned to the Canadian Hot 100.
Michael Jackson, “Thriller”
The spooky resurgence is led by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” which re-enters the chart at No. 23.
The title track of Jackson’s acclaimed 1984 album, “Thriller” originally debuted at No. 25 on the Canadian Hot 100 (which has been in existence since 2007) in 2018 and peaked at No. 8 in 2025, potentially in anticipation of the popularity of the Michael biopic. Released in 2026, the film catapulted much of Jackson’s discography onto the Canadian charts for the first time this year.

Even without that biopic boost, "Thriller" is one track by the King of Pop, who died in 2009, that has often returned to the Canadian Hot 100 each year around Halloween since its 2018 debut.
The Thriller album is also charting this week, coming in at No. 20 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart.
Rockwell, “Somebody’s Watching Me”
Jackson makes another appearance on the Canadian Hot 100, but with uncredited backing vocals on “Somebody’s Watching Me.”
The debut single from singer Rockwell, the son of famed Motown founder Berry Gordy, and served as the title track from the artist’s debut album, originally released in 1983.
2025 marked a peak year for the track, which reached No. 26 on the Nov. 15-dated chart, five years after it debuted at No. 39 in 2020. This year, the song returned at No. 47, in its fourth non-consecutive week on the chart.
Bobby "Boris" Pickett and The Crypt-Kickers, “Monster Mash”
A staple of Halloween school dances, Bobby "Boris" Pickett and The Crypt-Kickers have re-entered at No. 39 with the immortal 1962 hit “Monster Mash.”

Debuting on the chart in 2020 at No. 45, the 1962-released novelty track reached its highest-charting placement at No. 18, as Canadians geared up for the spooky season.
The graveyard smash is on the sole studio album by Pickett and The Crypt-Kickers, titled The Original Monster Mash. They recorded and released it in late 1962, following the success of “Monster Mash.” That album reached No. 78 on the Billboard Canadian Album chart in 2021, dated Nov. 9.
The Citizens of Halloween, “This Is Halloween”
Nothing commemorates the spooky season quite like “This Is Halloween.”
Featured in the 1993 stop-motion animated film The Nightmare Before Christmas, the spooky track from the film, based on a story by Tim Burton, re-enters at No. 48.
The Danny Elfman-written song first made the chart in 2023 and rose to a No. 28 high last year, two years after its debut at No. 45.
While Elfman admitted he was initially disappointed by the film's reception, it has become a classic for children and adults alike, and the track has become a major yearly reoccurrence on the charts.
