The viral math rock duo from Quebec performed “Fabienk” and “Sarniezz” on the BBC show while interacting with Canadian icon Shania Twain.

The world’s hottest band has given its latest viral performance, and even Shania Twain is a fan.
The polka-dotted alien math rock duo Angine de Poitrine made their debut on British television last night (June 21), performing as musical guests on Later… with Jools Holland, which airs on BBC.
The Quebec duo gave a live rendition of two tracks from their popular Vol. II album, “Fabienk” and “Sarniezz,” which have become fan-favourites due to their unique, irresistible guitar riffs and constant rhythmic changes. Canadian singer-songwriter legend Shania Twain also guested on the same episode and was seen bopping her head to the band's performance of "Sarniezz" while sitting nearby, showing that even she's a fan of 2026's biggest breakthrough act.

Twain also appeared alongside the band in a pre-show clip, where she admired their hair and costumes and learned the band's real age. In their native extraterrestrial language, they corrected host Jools Holland's claim that they were 300 years old, revealing themselves to be precisely 333 years old. Standing next to the three Canadian icons, Holland praised the show's group of performers — also including Sam Smith and Arlo Parks — as "one of the most remarkable lineups we've had" on the BBC show.
Ever since breaking out with their viral KEXP performance, there hasn't been a day without a viral moment for Angine de Poitrine. The duo recently made history as the first artists to win the Global Breakthrough Award at Billboard Canada Power Players 2026 and the video of their acceptance 'speech' racked up more than one million views. Vol. II landed on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart back in April following the band's initial viral breakthrough, debuting just shy of the top ten at No. 11.
The band could be seeing an even bigger week on the charts following the worldwide physical release of Vol. II, which was released on vinyl and CD to international retailers on June 12. While accepting the Manager on the Rise award at Billboard Canada Managers to Watch 2026, the band's manager Sébastien Collin revealed that the album moved a staggering 200,000 copies in pre-orders before that release date, within just four months of their first major viral moment.

Collin also received a nod during the "Fabienk" performance, as the song's repeated refrain of "Sébastien" directly references him. As he continues to guide the band's red-hot rise, Angine de Poitrine is looking at a massive summer with tour dates across the world, and they sold more than 100,000 tickets for their international tour in less than an hour, per Collin. The duo has one of the most in-demand tours coming to Canada this summer, with three Mod Club shows in Toronto set for July, including an opening slot for Jack White on the same night as their first Toronto show.
