Jelly Roll Reigns Over Billboard Canada Airplay Charts With 'Liar'
The impassioned track takes the No. 1 spot on the All-Format and Canada Country charts this week, while it sits at No. 33 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100. Canadian artist Alex Porat is also making moves on the CHR chart with "Face Like Yours."

"Liar" is on a roll.
The hot single by Nashville's Jelly Roll tops the Billboard Canada All-Format airplay chart this week. The song has spent 11 weeks on the chart, and it dethrones Morgan Wallen's "Love Somebody," which moves to No. 2. Myles Smith's "Stargazing," the chart leader for most of the year to date, falls to No. 4.
"Liar" is also on top of the Canada Country chart, though the song itself doesn't follow a strict country sound. Jelly Roll's brand of country fuses the genre with hip-hop, rock and pop elements, and "Liar" has a soulful blues edge to it, as Jelly Roll sings about betrayal with a growling intensity. It's half righteous anger and half resilient strength, and in another decade, it could have been an Adele song.

In 2025, though, where belting boys like Teddy Swims and Benson Boone rule the charts, "Liar" is getting Jelly Roll some serious air time. The song sits at No. 33 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, but maybe this radio momentum will help it crack the top 30.
On the CHR/Top 40 chart, Canadian artist Alex Porat has a chart debut at No. 39 with "Face Like Yours." The bouncy indie pop track has a clever hook about a guy whose personality can't live up to his looks, and Porat is bringing some serious Olivia Rodrigo energy to the proceedings.
Porat is managed by Billboard Canada 2024 Power Player Laurie Lee Boutet and her Wednesday Management, who helped break The Beaches internationally in 2023. With the radio momentum, Porat could be poised for a breakthrough of her own.
At the top of the other airplay genre charts, Myles Smith's "Stargazing" holds on to No. 1 on the Canada AC chart, while Chappell Roan moves up to No. 1 on the CHR/Top 40 chart with "Pink Pony Club." ROSÉ and Bruno Mars lead the Hot AC chart with "APT." "Mayday" by Three Days Grace and "Nobody's Soldier" by Hozier continue to rule the Mainstream Rock and Modern Rock charts, respectively.
