After a whirlwind global ascent, Billboard Canada cover stars are returning to their home province, making their debut at the Montreal music festival at 4:50 pm on Saturday, August 1.
The red hot Saguenay, Quebec math rock duo — known under pseudonyms Khn de Poitrine and Klek de Poitrine — are returning to their home province to play a surprise set at Osheaga. They’re set to perform on Bell River Stage, one of the festival's main stages, from 4:50-5:40 pm today (Saturday, August 1).
It’s another feat for the group, who have skyrocketed into the mainstream over the past few months following a viral KEXP performance. While they’ve played many international performances and festivals, including a recent performance at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, they’ve made quite the impact in Canada.

They drew in a record crowd at this year’s Montreal International Jazz Festival with up to 100,000 attendees, and had their performance bumped main stages at Ottawa Bluesfest and Hillside Festival. In July, they made their much-anticipated Toronto debut and played seven shows in six days, including two dates where they played back-to-back shows. They were a surprise addition at FIFA Fan Fest, and are now a surprise addition at Osheaga too.
While Angine de Poitrine are in the midst of their breakout year, Osheaga has become synonymous with booking artists before their big break, including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Gracie Abrams and more.

“We never want it to be a festival that once you get past the top line, it isn’t relevant,” Nick Farkas, senior VP of booking, concerts and events at Evenko, the promoter behind the festival. “For me, the wow factor, that’s the thing that makes Osheaga special."
If Angine de Poitrine's previous festival sets are any indication, the two polka dot aliens are set to draw in a massive audience for their Osheaga debut.
From July 31-Aug. 2, this year’s lineup features headliners Tate McRae, Twenty One Pilots and Lorde, with other major artists like The XX, Empire Of The Sun, Sombr, Major Lazer, Geese, Wolf Parade, Zara Larsson, Blood Orange, Finn Wolfhard, Valley and more, taking the stage in Montreal.
