Mike Lawless and Justin Dumont lead Apple Music’s Canadian strategy, combining nearly 50 years of experience across music, tech and media. Lawless, Head of Apple Music and Apple Podcasts Canada, oversees business strategy and editorial operations. Dumont, a former DJ and Toronto radio mainstay, leads Apple Music Canada’s editorial team, curating immersive listening experiences and championing emerging and established Canadian artists. Together, they’ve launched content initiatives like Up Next Radio (hosted by local legend George Stroumboulopoulos), Punjabi Takeover Radio (in partnership with Apple Music India), and original projects with The Beaches, Lights and Lindsay Ell. They were also instrumental in securing Karan Aujla as one of Apple Music’s six global Up Next artists in 2024. They also invest in Canadian industry initiatives like CCMA’s Country Music Week and the International Indigenous Music Summit, showcasing Canada’s diverse musical identity.
