Lou Ragagnin is the President and CEO of Re:Sound, Canada's most prominent neighbouring rights collector and distributor. Working in collaboration with Re:Sound’s member organizations (ACTRA-RACS, Artisti, SOPROQ, Universal, Sony and Warner) Ragagnin oversees neighbouring rights distributions to makers and performers. In its recent Annual Report, the company announced it distributed over $49 million in 2024, its highest in 26 years, and increased public performance collections through Entandem, the joint licensing venture between Re:Sound & SOCAN. Re:Sound also led the Fairness for Music Creators (FFMC) campaign, pushing the Canadian government to include music performers in the Copyright Act and allow them to benefit from performance royalties in audiovisual media content.
